Hello, parents! My name is Ellen Voorhees, and I am honored to serve as the Prevention and Intervention Counselor for the Pierce Joint Unified School District, primarily supporting the students and staff at Johnson Junior High School. As a proud graduate of this district and a parent of three children who also attended Pierce Joint Unified schools, I have a deep-rooted commitment to our community and a passion for helping students succeed.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent years as a high school and GATE teacher, working closely with students to support both their academic and personal growth. Now, as a counselor, my mission is to be a resource for students, parents, and staff—whether it's assisting with academics, navigating social-emotional challenges, or making smooth transitions between elementary, junior high, and high school.

I truly love what I do, and I believe every student deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and empowered. As both an educator and a fellow parent in this district, I understand the importance of a strong support system. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I'm here to help in any way I can!
